TRINIDAD FIRE RESCUE

Trinidad Fire Rescue (TFR) was established in 1955 to provide fire protection to the City of Trinidad and surrounding areas of Henderson County. The department is all VOLUNTEER, and since establishment the coverage area has grown to include approximately 80 square miles with an approximate 8000 residents.

TFR currently operates out of 4 fire stations after the recent construction of Station #4 which serves the City of Star Harbor and Long Cove Addition.

Station #1 is located at 217 E. Front St in Trinidad, Station #2 is located on McEntire St in Trinidad, Station #3 is located at the intersection of Key Ranch Rd and O'Neal Rd in Key Ranch Addition and Station #4 is located at the intersection of County Road 1400 and N. Smith St in Malakoff.  The placement of all stations has allowed us to provide a Property Protection Class of 5 for insurance purposes by putting a station within 5 miles of residential areas we provide services to.

TFR currently has twenty-four (24) members in the department who proudly serve and donate countless hours of service to the department as well as the residents of Henderson County. In addition to scheduled meetings, training and work days members respond to an average of 30 calls per month.

TFR receives funding for operation though a contract with Henderson County, Henderson County ESD#1 and generous donations from the citizens which we serve. The annual operation budget for the fire department varies between $150,000 to $185,000 per year to cover all assoicated cost with the department
